폴 에크만

폴 에크만(영어: Paul Ekman, 1934년 2월 15일 ~ 2025년 11월 17일)은 미국의 심리학자이자 캘리포니아 대학교 샌프란시스코 캠퍼스 명예교수이다. 감정과 표정의 관계에 대한 연구의 선구자이다. 20세기 심리학자 100명 중 59번째로 가장 많이 인용된 심리학자이다. 에크만은 특정 감정의 특정한 생물학적 상관관계에 대한 획기적인 연구를 수행하여 다윈주의적 접근 방식에서 '감정의 보편성과 불연속성'을 입증하려고 시도했다.

Paul Ekman was an American psychologist and professor at the University of California, San Francisco, who was a pioneer in the study of emotions and their relation to facial expressions. He was ranked 59th out of the 100 most eminent psychologists of the twentieth century in 2002 by the Review of General Psychology.
