부르스 M. 메츠거

브루스 매닝 메츠거 는 미국의 성서 학자, 성서 번역가, 본문비평가로 오랫동안 프린스턴 신학교의 교수였으며 미국성서공회와 연합성서회(UBS)의 이사로 활동한 성서 편집자였다. 그는 헬라어, 신약성서, 신약성경 본문 비평의 학자였으며 이러한 주제에 대해 많은 글을 썼다. 메츠거는 20세기 가장 영향력 있는 신약성서 학자 중 한 사람이었다. 그는 1986년 미국철학협회 회원으로 선출되었다.

Bruce Manning Metzger was an American biblical scholar and historian who spent his career at Princeton Theological Seminary. Metzger specialized in textual criticism and Bible translation and chaired committees for the Revised Standard Version and New Revised Standard Version. He served on the board of the American Bible Society and United Bible Societies. He was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 1986. Metzger is often considered among the most influential New Testament scholars of the 20th century.
